Released in 2009, Venom – Un Justicier Dans La Ville is a dark French underground hardcore hip-hop album from Paris, blending boom-bap, horrorcore, cinematic samples, and a strong comic-book atmosphere. Venom creates a unique universe inspired by 1980s action movies, comics, and New York hardcore rap, turning the album into a narrative journey through a troubled city. The project features Mc Zombi, Felicia La Chatte Noire, and MediEvil, while Venom handles almost all of the production, lyrics, scratches, and mixing himself. Tracks such as “Le Caïd,” “La Fureur du Juste,” “La Station Du Diable,” “Drogues Dans La Ville,” “Le Punisseur,” “Voeux De Mort,” “V.I.L.L.E,” and “Action Immediate” build a dark cinematic atmosphere filled with crime, corruption, fear, social frustration, and vigilante themes.Today, Venom – Un Justicier Dans La Ville remains a distinctive release in French underground hip-hop. Its combination of hardcore boom-bap, horrorcore elements, movie references, comic-book imagery, and socially critical storytelling makes it an especially interesting album for listeners exploring obscure Paris rap and the darker side of French hip-hop.
