Released in 2005, Yvon Krevé – Von Von Le Vet is a Quebec rap album from Longueuil, Québec, marking a new chapter in the career of one of the recognizable voices of French-language Canadian hip-hop. For this third album, Yvon Krevé adopted the name Von Von, delivering a more mature and intense style influenced by heavy American rap production while maintaining his distinctive Québec identity. The 13-track project includes “Intro,” “Micromicide,” “Les choses ont changé,” “L'Queb,” “01 Étranjj,” “Face-T,” “Dubberman,” and “Ruby.” The production leans toward heavy beats, hard drums, deep bass, and darker textures, giving the album a more aggressive sound than his earlier work. The lyrical themes explore everyday life, personal dilemmas, attitude, identity, and self-affirmation, while collaborations with artists from the Québec rap scene add variety to the project.Today, Yvon Krevé – Von Von Le Vet remains an important release for listeners exploring 2000s Quebec hip-hop. Its heavier production, French-language lyricism, Montréal-area identity, and evolution from Yvon Krevé into the Von Von persona make it a distinctive chapter in the history of rap québécois.
