UGK – Super Tight is the second studio album by American hip-hop duo UGK, consisting of Bun B and Pimp C. It was released on August 30, 1994, through Jive Records and followed the duo’s debut album Too Hard to Swallow. The album was recorded during 1993 and 1994 at several studios in Dallas, Texas, including Big Ole Bud, Dallas Sound Lab, Digital Services, Studio 13, and Ultra Sound Studios.The project contains eleven tracks and has a total running time of approximately 51 minutes. Production was handled by Pimp C and DJ DMD. The album also features contributions from musicians including Leo Nocentelli, who became the first session musician to appear on a UGK album. Nocentelli, known as the guitarist of The Meters, contributed guitar to the recording.The tracklist begins with “Return” and “Underground,” followed by “It’s Supposed to Bubble,” “I Left It Wet for You,” “Feds in Town,” and “Pocket Full of Stones, Pt. 2.” The second half includes “Front, Back & Side to Side,” “Protect & Serve,” “Stoned Junkee,” “Pussy Got Me Dizzy,” and “Three Sixteens.” Guest appearances include Mr. 3-2, Smoke D, and DJ DMD.Super Tight achieved greater commercial success than UGK’s debut. It reached number 95 on the Billboard 200 and number 9 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. By 2011, the album had sold approximately 375,000 copies.The album was produced during an important period in UGK’s early career, following their signing with Jive Records in 1992. The duo had established themselves in Port Arthur, Texas, and their second major-label release helped expand their audience beyond their regional base. The album’s classification includes Southern hip-hop and country rap, reflecting its place within the development of Southern rap during the 1990s.UGK – Super Tight was followed by Ridin’ Dirty in 1996, which became the duo’s most successful album of the decade. The release therefore occupies an important position between their early independent work and the wider recognition that followed.
