Released through 5420 Records, the album pairs Jazz Spastiks' signature jazz-infused boom-bap with TempOpmeT's intricate lyricism, resulting in a project that pays tribute to the golden era of hip-hop while maintaining a fresh and contemporary sound. The album features thirteen tracks produced entirely by Jazz Spastiks and was later expanded into a deluxe edition with instrumentals.Built around warm jazz samples, soulful loops, crisp drum breaks, and rich basslines, the production creates a smooth yet hard-hitting atmosphere throughout the record. TempOpmeT delivers imaginative rhyme schemes, vivid storytelling, and confident wordplay across standout tracks such as "Underground Sounds," "Ruff Rap," "Bombs Over Beats," "Green Street," and "The Mic Check." Guest appearances from Bathtubbs and Nappy Red add extra energy without overshadowing the chemistry between the producer duo and the Bronx lyricist. The result is a timeless boom-bap album that captures the spirit of classic underground hip-hop while benefiting from Jazz Spastiks' polished, jazz-driven production style.Rather than chasing modern trends, the project embraces authenticity, musicality, and lyrical craftsmanship. The fusion of UK jazz-rap production with New York underground lyricism creates a distinctive cross-Atlantic collaboration that feels natural from beginning to end. Its cohesive sound, concise running time, and strong replay value have made it a favorite among boom-bap enthusiasts and collectors of independent hip-hop.Today, Jazz Spastiks & People Without Shoes – Green Street (2019) is regarded as one of the strongest modern boom-bap collaborations, celebrated for its soulful jazz-inspired production, exceptional lyricism, and its successful union of UK beat-making with authentic East Coast hip-hop.
