Keny Arkana – État d'Urgence is a politically charged French rap EP released in 2016 through Los Doce Libres and Because Music. The six-track project marked her return after several years away from a major release and continues her uncompromising approach to conscious and socially engaged hip-hop.
The production combines classic French rap foundations with raw, atmospheric beats and a sound that deliberately avoids many contemporary commercial trends. The musical approach gives priority to rhythm, message, and vocal intensity, creating a focused and direct listening experience.
Lyrically, the project addresses political and social tensions, inequality, violence, peace, humanity, and the consequences of a troubled society. Written in the aftermath of the November 2015 attacks in France, the EP carries a particularly urgent tone while emphasizing humanism, solidarity, and resistance.
