Sixieme Sens – Herbes De Province released through Full Moon Records in February 2006, the album contains 14 tracks on the original physical edition. Later digital editions list 13 tracks with a running time of approximately 61 minutes.The album follows the group’s earlier mixtapes Sans Frontières and On Pense À Vous, which helped establish Sixième Sens within the French underground. Their development was closely connected with the regional rap scene around Saumur, Angers and Tours, giving the group an identity distinct from the dominant Parisian movement.Herbes de Province places this regional identity at the center of the project. Sixième Sens uses the album to represent French rap outside the capital, bringing together artists from different provincial scenes. The final two parts of the title track feature a large lineup of non-Parisian rappers, including Bouchées Doubles, Prince d’Arabee, Demi Portion, Axiom, Meven, 45 Niggaz, 20Syl, Orelsan, Kalash l’Afro, Dadoo, Jamal, Eska Crew, Gringe and Carré Rouge.The album combines classic French hip-hop production with direct MC performances and socially aware writing. The group’s three rappers bring different flows and personalities, while the production maintains a strong underground character throughout the project.The lyrical approach moves between introspection, social observation, everyday life and the experience of growing up outside the major urban centers. This combination of personal writing and regional identity became one of the defining characteristics of Sixième Sens.The album’s significance has grown through the later careers of several collaborators. Orelsan and Gringe, for example, would go on to form Casseurs Flowters and become major figures in French rap.Sixième Sens – Herbes de Province remains an important document of French regional hip-hop, capturing the independent rap culture of the mid-2000s and bringing together artists who represented the country’s provincial scenes.
